Hiking in the Zollernalb area
Hiking in the Zollernalb area

Wide, open fields and meadows, beech and pine forests, gentle hills and abrupt rocky outcrops, sparsely vegetated, the district of Zollernalb is more varied than most other districts. Hiking is the best way to get in touch with the beauty of the Zollernalb and will fulfil all expectations. Visitors should feel encouraged to discover the pleasure of juniper heaths, orchard meadows, mountain tops, caves and castles and last but not least the magnificent views of the Swiss Alps.

To protect and enjoy the unique nature of the Zollernalb all at the same time is not a contradiction in terms. On Sundays and holidays you can comfortably get with the cycle and hiking shuttle (Rad & Wander Shuttle) from Tübingen or Sigmaringen via Balingen to the most remote areas of the Zollernalb without polluting the environment. For example the "Oberes Schlichemtal" or Tieringen are points of departure for interesting hiking tours. A bus runs from Bisingen to the Hohenzollern castle, the emblem of the district of Zollernalb.

Hike without packs!

If you wish, hiking tours without packs can be booked. This allows you to hike from inn to inn and with your packs delivered in advance of your arrival at your destination. A lovely route for hiking without packs is the "Hohenzollernweg".
